Areas Treated In Peri-Oral Rejuvenation

• Peri-oral lines AKA smokers lines - tiny amounts of fine filler is injected directly into the lines to smooth them out

• Lips - our lips age just like any other part of our body, becoming wrinkled and shrivelled. Very small amounts of filler can be added to the lips themselves to provide subtle volume and much needed hydration. This also builds structure for the tissue surrounding the lips, helping to minimise peri-oral lines. You do not have to treat the lips if you do not wish but I would strongly recommend that you do. Rest assured, the results will be very subtle and it will not be obvious that you've had lip filler! 

• Downturned mouth corners - supports the corners of the mouth to improve the appearance of a "sad smile" and the beginnings of the marionette lines. Does not treat the whole marionette/chin shadow area but provides support to the corners of the mouth to soften this area

 

 

What to Expect During the Treatment

 

Your journey begins with a personalised consultation at DREAM SKIN Aesthetics in Halifax. Numbing cream is applied to make the treatment as comfortable as possible but the area is quite sensitive and some clients do report a bit of discomfort. The treatment itself takes around 45 minutes, using both a needle and cannula. Dermal filler is injected to give a smoother, more youthful appearance to the lips and surrounding tissue.

Results are immediate and continue to develop over the 2 weeks following treatment.

If you take any medications which have a blood thinning effect, it is advisable to stop 3 days prior to treatment IF SAFE TO DO SO to minimise bruising.

 

 

Aftercare and Recovery

​

• This delicate area does tend to bruise quite badly in some clients. This usually subsides within a few days for the majority of clients but can last up to 2 weeks in more severe cases.

• Avoid make up, excessive exercise, lip stick, hot drinks, and alcohol for 24 hours

• Stay hydrated and use a gentle lip balm and moisturiser to keep lips nourished during the healing process

• Arnica cream/tablets can be very effective in reducing bruising

 

 

How Long Do Results Last?

 

Results typically last around 12 months, depending on factors such as age, metabolism, the type of filler used, and individual lifestyle habits.
